Sussex Fish & Chips was founded in 1939 by an English family that brought their recipe for fish &chips with them to the Cleveland area from the shores of Sussex, England. The restaurant, now Sussex Seafood & Grille (to more accurately reflect the menu selections), is now owned and operated by Mark and Val Gaspar who took over in 2001. The Gaspar's also own Pizzazz Pizzaz Restaurant in Mayfield Village, OH. The original "Shop" was located on Hayden Ave. in Cleveland - as many of our old time patrons remind us during their visits to our current location (Since 1969) in Wickliffe, OH.
Sussex takes pride in upholding the high standards of the original recipies for its famous fish & chips and creamy "one of a kind" cole slaw! Thees same high standards are applied throughout our extensive menu. Over the past several years, these standards have been recognized by several sources including The Plain Dealer, The News-Herald, Scene Magazine,AOL City Guide.com, Lake County Business Journal, MSN.com, Fox 8Hot List and Channel 3 News, to name a few!
Sussex Seafood & Grille is a family oriented restaurant with a casual nautical theme which includes live fish tanks that seem to please guests of all ages! Full liquor service, beer & wine is available!
